Jay-Z will headline the Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation made the announcement on Monday night.
The news follows a multi-week tour that concluded in Southern California. Jay-Z finished his "Jay-Z 30" residency in the same stadium where he is scheduled to perform next year. The tour began with three concerts at Yankee Stadium in New York before moving to London.
Roc Nation has advised the NFL on entertainment presentations since 2019. Jay-Z previously told Commissioner Roger Goodell he did not want to perform, stating, "If this is about me performing at the Super Bowl, then we can just end this conversation now."
The announcement video featured Jay-Z sitting in SoFi Stadium surrounded by goats. The clip included the text "GOAT's out of the bag."
Born Shawn Carter, Jay-Z has won 25 Grammy Awards and received 89 nominations. He is behind only his wife, Beyonce, in the number of Grammy nominations in history. His discography includes albums such as "Reasonable Doubt," "The Blueprint," and "The Black Album."
His debut album, "Reasonable Doubt," entered the Grammy Hall of Fame last year. Jay-Z became the first rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2017 and joined the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.
He co-founded Roc-A-Fella Records and established Roc Nation in 2008. The company now manages artists and athletes across various entertainment sectors.
