The Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, now operates as a permanent theme park and concert venue alongside its role as a Formula 1 race track. The site includes rollercoasters, amusement rides, and a cable car system that connects the paddock building to hospitality structures featuring two swimming pools.

In 2012, the venue hosted its first United States Grand Prix with minimal landscaping and open grassy banks surrounding the course. The track was designed by motorcycle racer Kevin Schwanz, while Herman Tilke's company handled the buildings and infrastructure. The layout features heavy braking zones, elevation changes, and varied corner speeds that distinguish it from temporary street circuits in Miami and Las Vegas.

The venue faced the risk of removal from the racing calendar early in its history due to low interest. It has since become the most attended of the three US Formula 1 events. The property has expanded to host the World Endurance Championship and IMSA races, specifically the Lone Star Le Mans, which take place in September.

The diversification strategy combines racing with leisure attractions. The grassy banks that once bordered the track are now occupied by hospitality buildings. The skyline is populated with amusement rides that serve a dual purpose for visitors attending races and those seeking general entertainment.

Formula 1 returned to the venue this weekend. The event draws dedicated fans who prefer the permanent infrastructure and runoff areas over the concrete barriers used on street circuits. The site continues to host technical partners and broadcast teams who manage data and tire strategies for the competing teams.

The next scheduled major event at the facility will follow the annual F1 race. The venue will host the Lone Star Le Mans races in September of the following year, continuing its rotation of motorsport events.
