Paramount+ Dates 'Quadir's Redemption' Premiere for December

The True to the Game franchise will return for a fourth installment this December. The new film, titled True to the Game: Quadir’s Redemption, is set to premiere on Paramount+ on Dec. 15. The three previous titles in the series will become available on the platform exclusively starting Dec. 1.

Columbus Short returns as Quadir Richards, while Erica Peeples reprises her role as Gena. The cast also includes Vivica A. Fox as Shoog, Iyana Halley as Bria, Starletta Dupois as Gah-Git, Andra Fuller as Jerrell, Kris D. Lofton as Terrell, and Lisa Renee Pitts as Viola Richards. The group had appeared in the earlier chapters of the crime-thriller series.

The plot follows Gena and Quadir as they attempt to build a life together. Their relationship faces new pressure from Quadir's ongoing ties to the drug world. A specific question regarding Gena’s baby now threatens to permanently alter their dynamic.

Salvatore Sclafani directed the movie based on a script by Manny Halley. Halley also serves as an executive producer for Imani Media Group. The franchise began in 2017 with an adaptation of Teri Woods’ 1998 novel. It was followed by Game 2: Gena’s Story in 2020 and True to the Game 3 in 2021.

Short discussed his connection to the material in an interview with SideWalks released alongside the third film. He cited the vulnerability in the love story as a primary draw. Short noted that the loyalty between his character and Fox’s character, Shoog, defines the core theme. He stated that the arrival of love changes the situation for the characters.
