A commercial court in Luhansk Oblast has ordered Russia to pay UAH 65.36 million, approximately $1.6 million, to Oliiar. The firm lost a large portion of its sunflower seed inventory when Russian forces took over a storage facility in the occupied town of Svatove.

The dispute traces back to October 2021, when Oliiar contracted to buy 4,700 tonnes of seeds from the Prydniprovske Agrarian Company LLC. The company arranged for Svatove-Ahro LLC to hold the crop in a local warehouse. By the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, Svatove-Ahro had transferred 2,592 tonnes to Oliiar. The remaining 2,107 tonnes stayed in storage until Russian armed groups seized the premises.

The court found that Oliiar provided conclusive evidence linking the loss directly to Russia's armed aggression. The compensation figure was determined through an expert valuation of the missing seeds. Russia is represented in the case by its Ministry of Justice.

Oliiar is a private company registered in Pustomyty, Lviv Oblast. Iryna Zalizna is listed as the founder, while Iryna Podoba serves as the director.

This decision mirrors an earlier ruling by the same court. In a separate case, the judges ordered Russia to pay UAH 51.67 million, or $1.25 million, to Trading House Agrokhim LLC for property lost in both Svatove and Kakhovka in Kherson Oblast.
